Description

Himsra is a thorny, perennial shrub that grows up to 1 meter in height. It has fleshy, rounded leaves and bears white to pinkish flowers with long, delicate stamens. The fruit is oval-shaped, containing numerous seeds and has a slightly bitter taste. Its unique and attractive flowers bloom in the morning and close by sunset.

Occurrence

Himsra is native to the Mediterranean region and is also found in parts of North Africa, Southern Europe, and Central Asia. In India, it grows in regions with rocky soils and dry climates, such as the Himalayan foothills and dry, arid areas in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
